Bachelor weekend in review

Smiling runI think 1997 was the last time I lived by myself. I remember sitting around in my underwear, doing a lot of literal navel-gazing, and eating take-out food.

Not much has changed. This weekend, I watched seven or eight movies, spent an inordinate amount of time in my underwear, and only ventured out into the real world on one night.

In a few hours, my wife will be home and might ask what I did. Sadly, there is not much to tell.

About the only thing worth mentioning was the few hours on Saturday I spent with some friends. One asked me to take some pictures of his daughter playing soccer (that’s one of them on the right there). Afterward, I got paid back in Magic Hat and sirloin. Later, we watched Sox and Missouri Tigers lose.

The quiet has been nice, but I miss my family. The boy is off to visit grandparents. I’m just a few days away from going to LEAF, an annual highlight and a great time to spend with the wife.

I guess I better clean up the house, huh?

  1. 1. Perect picture of soccer girl.
    2. Magic Hat kicks ass — I am all about #9.
    3. I feel ya 100% on the bachelor thing. Once a year my wife takes the kids to the beach in July for a week or 10 days, and I sit home alone in the evenings while working during the day. I find myself strangely looking forward to it for a good month or so before it happens every year, but truth be told, I never do anything earth-shattering in my bachelority and I just end up missing the family.
