May minutiae

File May under “fail.” I don’t even wanna talk about it.

Exercise: Apart from one trip to the gym, the only exercise I got during the entire month was a byproduct of playing ten rounds of disc golf. It wasn’t unsubstantial, but it wasn’t how I should’ve treated myself.

Freelance writing goals: Not getting far in this quest…

Books read: Double Whammy

Movies watched: The Hurt Locker; The Invention of Lying; The Heist; Syriana

Documentaries watched: Street Fight ; Grateful Dawg ; Love the Beast

Best meal(s): I made a halfway decent blackened mahi one night in the early part of the month.

Travel days: 1 (today)

Live poker hours: 36. May was a terrible poker month, probably the worst I’ve had in a year.

Online poker hours: Probably played 35 hours of online poker in May. Still a complete waste of my time.

Personal grade for the month: C- . I had a really good time in May, reconnected with some people with whom I needed to reconnect, and worked on being a good dad and husband. Amazing how much time those things take. So, I failed at May pretty miserably in terms of personal goals, but the month was not a complete waste.

I think the “being a good dad and husband” is totally a worthwhile endeavor, regardless of your other personal goals! 🙂
