And so the summer ends

For the past several years, my family has been threatening to get together for a beach vacation. As we’re all exceptionally busy people who travel all the time anyway, it wasn’t easy to do. But, we had three birthdays to celebrate. What’s more, my parents were married for 40 years as of this summer. So, we made the vacation happen.

I love going on vacation, I really do. Not only can you experience different countries and cultures, but it also provides you with memories that will last a lifetime (and quality time with your loved ones). There aren’t many times when we’re not on vacation or at least thinking about going on one. As someone who has been fortunate enough to vacation a lot, I would have to recommend the Cayman Islands, especially if beach vacations are your thing. And if you are like me and my family and you plan your vacation around food, then you’ll find the Visit Cayman Islands website a useful resource (https://www.visitcaymanislands.com/en-us/plan-your-trip/food-drink in particular). Vacations are always on my mind, and planning our next break is always exciting to me. We usually just stick to warm locations near the beach, but I would love the opportunity to visit somewhere that you could say is out of our comfort zone, like Iceland.

Iceland. The Land of Fire and Ice. Their unforgettable glaciers and volcanoes. The Blue Lagoon and the Northern Lights. Doesn’t it sound magical? And my temptation of going there has only grown since my friend was telling me about it. He got to do everything he ever wanted to do because he made the decision to hire the perfect vehicle from somewhere like Cars Iceland, instead of relying on other means of transport. He had the time freedom to visit where he wanted, when he wanted, and his pictures just go to show what a great time he had. And I’m jealous, I really am. I would love the opportunity to experience it myself one day in the future. Maybe when the kids are older.

But being able to have the luxury of going on these amazing vacations with my family, and celebrating some remarkable milestones at the same time is what life is all about. I’m so grateful. And it’s fair to say that we always have a great time wherever we go.

It’s over now and it’s time to get back to real life, work, and something resembling a healthy lifestyle. In the meantime, here’s how I spent the last week. As always, you can see the full versions of the photos at my Flickr account.

We’ve got a trip much like this one planned for October this year…only it’s gonna be in Yachats, Oregon. Our home sweet home on the other coast! Can’t wait for the Pacific Ocean in my backyard again!

Looks like you had an amazing time!
